Privacy policy

CiteReady collects nothing about you. This policy explains exactly what the extension reads, where its requests go, and what this website does.

Effective · Last updated
In short: no account, no server, no analytics, no tracking. The audit runs entirely in your browser and nothing is sent to HappyCoders.

Who we are

CiteReady is published by Happycoders Private Limited (“HappyCoders”, “we”), Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, India (happycoders.in). This policy covers the CiteReady extension for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, and the website at citeready.happycoders.in.

What the extension collects

Nothing. CiteReady does not collect, store, sell or transmit personal information, browsing history, page content or audit results to us or to anyone else. There are no user accounts and no sign-in.

What the extension reads

When you click the CiteReady icon, the extension reads the page in the current tab — its HTML, headings, links, metadata and structured data — to calculate the audit. That reading happens in your browser and the result is shown to you only.

Permissions

CiteReady asks for two permissions:

  • activeTab — access to the tab you are on, only when you click the icon.
  • scripting — the ability to run the audit on that tab.

It does not request access to all websites, your tabs list, bookmarks, history, downloads or cookies.

Network requests

Every request the extension makes goes to the site being audited: the page itself, its robots.txt, its sitemap and, during a site scan, up to 50 of its linked pages. These requests are made only when you start an audit, and always without your cookies. No request is made to HappyCoders or to any third party.

Storage

CiteReady keeps no audit history. Results live in the popup while it is open and are gone when you close it. PDF, Markdown and CSV exports are created on your device and saved wherever you choose; we never see them.

Chrome Web Store and Edge Add-ons

The use of information received from browser APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Because CiteReady collects no user data, none is used, transferred or sold. Google and Microsoft may collect data about installs under their own store policies.

This website

citeready.happycoders.in uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. It sets cookies in your browser (named _ga and _ga_*) that recognise your browser on a later visit, and it sends Google your IP address, the pages you open, the site you arrived from, and your browser and device type. Google processes that data on our behalf and under its own privacy policy; we see only aggregate reports and never your name or email. This is the only third party the site contacts — fonts, styles, scripts and images all come from this domain, and there is no advertising. To opt out, use Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, block cookies for this site, or use any browser setting or extension that blocks analytics. Our hosting provider may also keep standard server logs (IP address, time, page requested) for security and reliability, deleted on a routine schedule.

Children

CiteReady is a professional tool and is not directed at children under 13. We knowingly collect no information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Since we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing to access, correct or delete. If you believe otherwise, contact us and we will respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. A change that would collect any data would require a new extension version and your browser’s permission prompt.
